Société pour l'Etude et la Protection des Oiseaux en Limousin [in French] - local birding organisation that promotes the study and protection of birds in Limousin; includes bird reports.
Oradour-sur-Glane - [in French] situated in the Haute Vienne, between St-Junien and Bellac (60 km from St Germain les Belles), Oradour is a memorial to the horrific WW2 massacre in 1944. 642 people died - the men were rounded up and shot, whilst the women and children were imprisoned in the church which was then set alight. The village has been left as it was on that fateful day and is an incredibly moving, whilst informative, place to visit.
Limoges Aquarium [in French] - the aquarium is situated in Limoges and although some people have complained that it is very small, I really enjoyed taking my toddler there. It is tiny but the staff were very helpful and they have some amazing looking fish! Probably a good place to visit if you are already in Limoges.
Arbre en Arbre Adventure Park [in French] - this adventure park is fantastic for kids and adults alike and is situated just 50 km from St Germain les Belles.
Limousin Steam-Train Journeys [in French] - steam-train journeys in Limousin. With a variety of routes from Limoges to Eyemoutiers and Ussel this is a great day out travelling back in time to the days of real trains! The train travels through the gorges of the Haute Vienne with some spectacular viaducts. Stop-offs and changeovers provide a variety of routes to make up your day out.
Hot Air Ballooning in Lubersac [in French] - view the Corrèze region from a hot air balloon! Journeys of 30 minutes and 1 hour, each flight can take a maximum of 4 passengers. Flights are by appointment only - you choose your time. You also help to inflate the balloon. the minimum age limit is 7 years, if accompanied by an adult. Open all year around - flights dependent on weather conditions.
